Foundation

Jan Lori privately supported the Uniquedirect Children's Relief between 2002 and 2006. For financial and organisational reasons he decided to set up a Trust under Swiss law. He achieved this on 16 May 2006 when the Trust was entered in the Register of Companies and the Uniquedirect Foundation Switzerland was founded. Since then the Board of Trustees has been responsible for the Trust's strategic management. The Trust also sources and manages funding and pursues Uniquedirect's vision.

The Founder

Jan Lori from Malans (canton of Grisons), works full-time for Uniquedirect. He is its project manager and man on the spot. When he is in Switzerland he deals with PR work. He also carries out all the graphic work for Uniquedirect's image. He is in constant contact with the Project's officers and with the Foundation in Switzerland.

Legal form/Auditors

The legal form means that Uniquedirect Foundation Switzerland finances are subjected to an audit every year by the auditors (Riedi Ruffner Theus, Chur). In addition the Trust is subject to supervision by the Swiss Federal Supervisory Board for Foundations. The management keeps the books. Internal audits are carried out by the Board of Trustees.

Tax exemption

Donations to the Uniquedirect Foundation Switzerland are tax deductible. At the start of each year we send our donors and project sponsors a confirmation of donations with the annual report.

Financing

The Uniquedirect projects are 100% financed by donations.

Use of funds

The fixed monthly costs and annual fixed expenses of the projects covered by project sponsorship and one-off donations. The current budget and annual accounts can be inspected on request.

Expenses

Both the trustees and the many helpers and advisers in Switzerland give their time and efforts for free. The administrative costs (administrative work/project organisation/fund raising) and Jan Lori's salary, are born by a separate patron. This means that 100% of all donations benefit the children.
